Biography of Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio was born on November 11, 1974 in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in California. He was an only child, thought he has a step brother named Adam. Leonardo gets his Italian background from his father George and his German background from his mother Irmalin. His parents divorced a year after he was born.


 Leo was educated at the Centre of Enriched Studies and John Marshall High, both located in Los Angeles. He didn’t like to go to school and his raucous behavior often got him in trouble.
Later, Leo appeared in over 30 commercials, and when he was 14 years old he signed finally a contract. He did many educational films as How to Deal with Parents who Take Drugs, and Mickey’s Safety Club. He appeared on screen role in 1991 on Critters III.

At 16 years old, Leo landed the role as a homeless boy name Luke on the last two seasons of Growing Pains. Finally, he got his big break because he completed over 11 films. In 1997, DiCaprio made the most important film of his story, called Titanic.



Titanic has helped Leo’s popularity. Leo is also a great producer. In 2004, he started as a production assistant and made two movies. But from 2007, he has made 5 films as a producer. At the time, DiCaprio is working on a movie called Red Riding Hood, participating as a producer.



Now, at 36, Leonardo DiCaprio has earned his fame because he knows how to bring emotion and reality to his roles. He has touched millions of people’s hearts all over the world.
